Zambia
Country Liaison:
Favour Simoongwe
For the interim Favour Simoongwe a Zambian born Canadian will assist HYTES in overseeing its work in Zambia as the sponsorship program is been revised. Favour moved to Canada in 2000, but has kept contact with his native country through family visits and volunteer activities, including spending a year (with his Canadian family) serving as a project manager for Kasensa Orphanage in 2012/2013. Favour is passionate about helping vulnerable children and youth, and their communities in any way he can – currently, Favour volunteers on the HYTES board in Canada. As an educator, he sees education of youth as reliable way out of poverty.
Country Representative:
Masiliso Sianga
Masiliso Sianga will serve as a Zambia Country Representative of HYTES beginning in 2019. Masiliso graduated from High School in 2015 under very difficult circumstances similar to the pupils sponsored by HYTES. She now wants to give back to her community as a HYTES rep in Zambia. One of Masiliso’s goals is to pursue post-secondary school toward an Education or Pharmacy career. Masiliso is passionate about humanitarian work through her church and volunteering in her Community. Her mother, Mrs. Lenty Sianga will be on hand to assist Masiliso with her HYTES work.
Masiliso and Lenty have been instrumental in developing HYTES relationship with the Mwaata school in Kalomo.
Country Representative:
Lenty Sianga
Mrs. Lenty Sianga will serve as a Zambia Country Representative of HYTES together with Masiliso her daughter. Mrs. Sianga graduated high school at Kabanga Christian Secondary School in 1991. Having experienced first hand the difficulty of finding resources through high school, Lenty is looking forward to assist the youth of Zambia under HYTES. Mrs. Sianga is a home-maker and lives in Kalomo with her husband and their three children.
