We hope everyone is doing as good as can be expected during these crazy times in Canada and across the world.
First, we want to officially welcome Favour as our new Board Member! He has been amazing helping HYTES.
Tanzania schools have been closed since March 17th, Zambia schools have been closed since March 20th, Kenya schools have been closed since March 18th, and we are awaiting to hear about our Guatemala HYTES students.
Timelines are uncertain, but we are wishing our students the best. In the fiscal year ending April 30, 2020 we lost the CIP grant and raised $7500 of the anticipated $20,000 donations. We thank everyone for their donations! They all make a huge difference and our focus for next year will be on more fundraising and events, though we are currently unsure when (due to COVID-19). We are at a bit of a standstill, but will provide updates as we know more. If you or anyone you know has any information on grants or are looking to donate to helping youth in developing countries receive an education, donations are needed now more than ever for their future studies when schools reopen.
We have finished auditing the books for YE2019 (thank you Elisa) and we will post the official financial statement when available.
Stay healthy and safe everyone. We are all in this together.
